We had a blast at our Fun Run today!  Thank you for supporting MRE!!!

Mr. Chapman's visit as a BURRITO?!?

Mr. Chapman made a bet with the PTA about how many books could be sold at the book fair.  Our book fair sales went way beyond the goal!!!! So Mr. Chapman paid a visit to each classroom dressed like a burrito!! He carried a sign that said, "MRE is wrapped up in reading!"  What a good sport.

We continue to use the Everyday Math games to practice our math skills.

100th Day of School

On the 100th Day of school the students completed various math activities. These activities reinforced the following math skills: estimating, counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s, patterns on the 100s chart, and addition.

Valentine's Day Party!

The children's Valentine boxes were fantastic !!

Swashbuckle!!!

We have learned a new game to help us master our addition and subtraction facts!  The name of the game is Swashbuckle and students earn "treasure" for every math fact they answer correctly. Watch out for the swashbuckle card... If you get one you lose all of your treasure!  The children enjoy it and they have the opportunity to play after they complete their math assignment. 

Introduction to Everyday Math Online

The children were beyond excited today when we used the mini laptop computers to practice math concepts!  They learned how to log in to the Everyday math website and how to play Math Facts Workshop.  They LOVED it!  Next week the children  will bring home their log in information so they can access this valuable resource at home!
